Clarity Breathwork Los Angeles Breathwork Southern California

Breathwork can be done in groups or in personal sessions. Click here to see upcoming groups. All individual sessions begin with talking to explore what is going on and what you would like to work on. From there we might use therapeutic touchbreathwork, or hypnosis. You are welcome to request sessions specifically using any of these modalities, or we may use a different one each time we meet. We can decide together which way to work each session. Read more here about breathwork. Breathwork is a powerful tool for accessing what may be affecting us but that we are not aware of. It also bring the benefit of connection with spirit, which can be of great help in the process of healing.

Breathwork

The breath is oxygen. However, mixed with intention, it is also life, light, and love. Just as oxygen is essential to our cells, the experience of life flowing is yearned for by our spirit. Just as disease can't live in the presence of oxygen, when we bring forward light, life, and love, everything unlike these comes up to be healed. Studying the breath relates to our most fundamental relationships: those to ourselves, the universe, god, and life itself. These relationships and our feelings about them are imprinted from our first breath and in experiences throughout life. Working with the breath is a powerful way to heal any sense of break in these relationships and restore trust in the support of life.

The term "Breathwork" refers to the technique of "consciously connected breath." There are many ways of using this breath, and Clarity Breathwork applies it in a very gentle way. This releases stress and toxins from the body, and limitations from our energy and mind. It takes us all the way back to our first breath, putting us in contact with the sacred tasks of this life. This can bring about profound physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing. The consciously connected breath evokes a non-ordinary state of consciousness that facilitates healing through the experience of bliss, emotional release, insight, and expanded awareness. Instead of guiding therapy by the intellect alone, an intention is set, the breath is used, and the psyche reveals where the work needs to go. This work rests in a deep belief in the inner capacity for healing and knowing. This form is gentle but fierce, emphasizing your ability to welcome everything that arises. Learning this capacity of the heart to open to all elements of life and self is the true nectar of healing.

Sessions begin with verbal counsel to explore life situations and clarity intention, and then let the breath be the guide. Skillful support, grounding, resource and loving kindness are applied to help you navigate whatever arises. This work goes back to the first breath, conception, and intergenerational patterns, helping release the resonances and patterns that underlie dis-ease. Though nothing is guaranteed, and healing does not always mean that physical situations change, profound healing has taken place through the willingness to be the one who breaks the chain. Consideration of the entry point of this life gives permission to directly address what may otherwise be avoided or taken for granted: do we want to be here? Do we feel we deserve it? And what did we come to believe was required in order to survive? The medicine may be forgiveness, self-kindness, processing of grief, a revising of old wounds, an opening to guidance, retrieval of parts of self, or a remembering of who you really are.

I’ve been fortunate to experience Laura’s healing work through both her breathwork circles and individual somatic therapy sessions. I’m deeply and profoundly grateful for the space she holds and the compassion she embodies. Laura holds a level of presence and deep listening that goes way beyond non-judgment… it’s a total acceptance of what’s present, along with skillful facilitation, and this allows the depths of whatever needs to heal to safely emerge.

Laura’s taught me how to work with the breath in a way that had never really been accessible for me in the past… she has a level of mastery with this tool that allows even the most sensitive or traumatized nervous system to feel safe, supported, and challenged to expand and grow. She holds spaces for community and sharing in ways that are supportive, accepting, and inclusive and allow for the deep collective wisdom to arise… this is true healing at its best.
